i still believe my sister died of this 2 years ago. she had enlarged liver and heart that seem to come out of nowhere. she spent a year in hospital waiting for a transplant after her pacemaker/difibulator was not substaining her life.As we researched her condition , i came upon this kissing bug disease. she and her husband had been to mexico 11 years prior. i got my other sister and my husband to also research it and we all came to the conclusion, although fatal at this point, she had had a heart pump "installed" to substain her till a transplant was found.i asked jackie, her heart doctor, to have her blood checked for this, realizing that it was too late to save her, but could save others. when my sister went into the ottawa heart institute, they said there were two weird things in her blood , even testing it the second time, and did not know what it was. hence, we were excited to may have found her issue. unfortunately, about 3 weeks after this, pam died. jackie had never heard of the kissing bug disease and shrugged me off. after my sister died, i asked her if they had tested her for this and she replied no. i am , and the family, still VERY angry about this, as we still belive that we found the track and the doctors should of at least done this simple test! It could of saved some lives down the road ! i only wished i had of sat there till they did it!
